It would appear that I’m working on chapter 5 now. The more I work on this book, the more I think that I can’t even call this a 1st draft yet. Maybe I’ll just say I’m on my .5th draft and round up.

If my outline stands, I should eventually have 10 chapters, which means I’m 1/2 way done with being 1/16th of the way through the process. So far, it’s weighing in at about 54 pages, but I expect that to expand considerably as I finish the remaining 5 chapters and (eventually) pour through all the crap I’ve typed in with the hope of working out some semblance of order and writing style.

Because this is a technical manual of sorts, I don’t want to bury everything in prose. But at the same time, I don’t want the whole book to be one log grocery list. Which side will win out? Only the Shadow knows…
